Perry Phillips Resigns as Executive Director

Posted By Perry Phillips Jr., Home Cleaner Magazine, Tuesday, January 06, 2009
January 5, 2009
Dear ARCSI Members,

The New Year is a natural time of change and a time to reflect on the past and the future. It is in this spirit after several months of personal reflection and contemplation, that I announce my resignation as Executive Director of ARCSI.

Perry Phillips
Almost six years ago, I had a  vision and  set out on a mission to unite this industry to provide opportunities for owners and managers of home cleaning companies to network, and to be able to forge bonds that would help not only the individuals involved, but also advance the industry as a whole and create awareness.

I am so proud of the organization that I have built. I love ARCSI and the members involved. It is the people that truly make this association so special and unique. I feel it is time for me to pursue other avenues. I know this may cause uncertainty for many of you, and may not be what you want to hear, but I feel it is time for others to take the reigns of leadership.

I have worked extremely hard over the years to build ARCSI, to create an association to serve the needs of the only industry I have ever known and love. It is very difficult to "leave my baby in new hands", but it is time. I am counting on you to step up to the plate, take ownership of YOUR association, and be proud to be part of what is next for this organization.

This organization belongs to its members. As the Founder, I challenge each of you to step back, take a look at your association, take a look at your own company, and the industry as a whole. Then get involved and make ARCSI all that it can and should be!

I am not leaving the home cleaning industry; I will still be very active and an advocate for the industry as a whole. I am exploring new opportunities I want to pursue and I can't wait for those plans to come together, so that I can share them with you all. I hope that you will see value and support me in my new endeavors.

I have made countless friends and met many colleagues along this journey that have had a profound effect on me personally and professionally. These are relationships I cherish and look forward to evolving through this transition.

All the Best,

Perry D Phillips, Jr.
Founder ARCSI

Hands down at every ARCSI convention and event the Roundtables are the most popular sessions- now ARCSI will be offering you roundtable discussions every week!

That’s right, professionals in the home cleaning industry can dial in and participate in a 30 minute roundtable style discussion on the ARCSI Teleconference line every Tuesday.

Best of all, this is completely free for ARCSI members, already included with your membership. Non-members/ guests can call in and participate for only $15.

Get Involved in the Ambassador Program Now!

Posted By Christine McDannell, Social Starfish/Edge Media Marketing, Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Are you looking for a way to influence and motivate our Association
without a large time commitment on your part?

Well, we are looking for members who could represent our Association
in a positive manner and would be willing to volunteer their precious time
to do so. The Ambassadors are the cheerleaders our Association and we are
a fun group of people! It is a very minimal time commitment to serve as an
Ambassador and you get back SO MUCH more in return.

Our MONTHLY (45 minute) conference calls are on the 1st
WEDNESDAY of each month. This is where we discuss different
ways we can help the Association and the members grow.

Please feel free to contact me for more information and I will be happy to
provide you with a full description of the position.

ARCSI Wins Customer Service Award

Posted By Perry Phillips Jr., Home Cleaner Magazine, Friday, October 24, 2008
Updated: Friday, October 24, 2008

Ask any dedicated ARCSI member and they will confirm that ARCSI is dedicated to providing great service to its member.  Now that level of commitment has been recognized.
ARCSI won the Best Customer Service Award for a booth under 300 square feet at the recent ISSA Interclean Trade Show. The award recipients were chosen by voting attendees of the trade show. The ISSA Interclean tradeshow is the largest cleaning trade show in North America with over 650 exhibitors, and over 14,000 attendees.
“I am proud that our organization got recognized at the event, it is encouragement to work even harder to improve the levels of service we provide”, said Perry D Phillips, Jr., ARCSI Founder and Executive Director.

A Fond Farewell to Beth Frazier
We are sad to report that Beth Frazier, our Member Services Coordinator is no longer with ARCSI.  She is looking to conquer fresh challenges and new endeavors. Her hard work and dedication have been distinct assets to ARCSI over the last year. Her great attitude and cheerful disposition will be missed.

Please join us in wishing her well and good luck on her personal journey. If you would like to send  a note to Beth, email Perry and he will make sure that she gets it.

How to Post Questions, Answers and Comments to the new ARCSI Online Community

Okay, so there is a great deal of information all at once with the new ARCSI online community. We want to make sure members can easily learn their way around the site.

Each week we will break down an area and explain how to get the most out of it.

A good place to start would be the “Association News” tab from the home page.  There you will find “Website Features”.  This will be a great place to ask questions and find answers about navigating the new site.

You’ll want to participate in online discussions.  Think of this like our old message board on steroids!  From the home page, click “Community Groups” then “Business Development Topics”.  You will find many areas of interest here like marketing, employee issues, insurance, customer service, financial issues etc.  You must “subscribe” to each area of interest to be included in discussions.  I’m totally no-tech and found everything very self explanatory.

Once you subscribe to an area, you can add to, reply to and view posts.  To participate in an established post, click on the title, then make a “comment”, it will then show up with the other comments.  If you do not see what you are looking for, or you have a new question or new information to share, click on “create a post” and then you can enter the information you want to share, or the question you want to ask. (You can see examples in each area).
PLEASE NOTE: Be sure that you are posting and commenting in the areas that are relative to the subject in that group, so that information is easily navigated.

You’ll also see a list of all the other members who are subscribed in each area.  You can click on any name in the list and be taken directly to that member’s personal page.

On the right side of your personal page, click on “My Preferences”.  Here you will be able to decide if you want an email notification every time someone adds or changes a post. It is your choice, but keep in mind it could really fill up your inbox quickly.

Main areas:
Association News- This area is for what is going on in ARCSI, the latest updates about news, events, and membership information. The “President’s Perspective” a weekly Blog from Alison Palmer can be found in this area.

Community Groups- This is the main member-sharing information center of the website, where members can read, ask questions, and post comments about areas such as  marketing, financial management, employee issues, and many more!

You have the choice of visiting and viewing all the information included. You will be prompted to join each group that interests you.  All of these learning groups are included with membership in ARCSI. Note: You must be logged in to join the groups and then to return to visit.

If you do not see what you are looking for, or you feel there is a need for a new area of discussion, please let us know at once and we will get one started.
